Once confirmed, CO₂ is introduced gradually into the chamber; the bird becomes drowsy and loses consciousness without pain or distress. Euthanasia follows only after explicit authorisation from a licensed operator, and the specimen is stored in the integrated freezing chamber with a full compliance audit trail.
