About the Feral Pigeon

Also known as the rock dove, pigeons are the undisputed number one urban pest bird across every continent except Antarctica. They congregate in massive numbers on ledges, bridges, and roofs.

Why it's a pest

Highly acidic droppings erode building facades, corrode machinery, and block drainage pipes. Harbour dangerous pathogens including Salmonella and Histoplasma. Significant aviation strike hazard.

How the APC-N1 and APC-N8 manages Feral Pigeon

At approximately 330 mm, the feral pigeon fits a T2 — Medium tunnel (100 × 400 × 500 mm). The tunnel is the physical entry point — sized precisely to admit the target species while excluding larger non-target birds. Species-specific attractant bait draws the feral pigeon into the detection zone inside the tunnel, where AI computer vision confirms species identity at 99.7% accuracy. Once confirmed, CO₂ is introduced gradually into the chamber; the bird becomes drowsy and loses consciousness without pain or distress. Euthanasia follows only after explicit authorisation from a licensed operator, and the specimen is stored in the integrated freezing chamber with a full compliance audit trail.

The T2 — Medium tunnel is available on the APC-N1 and APC-N8both units carry this tunnel size as a standard configuration.
